The official Twitter account for Makoto Takatsu’s manga “Wataridori to Katatsumuri” (Migratory birds & Snail) announced exciting news on Wednesday. The manga will be receiving a television anime adaptation, marking its return from a four-year hiatus.
The story revolves around Unpei Mochizuki, a young man working at a machine parts distributor who finds himself contemplating a journey far away after causing trouble for a customer. He meets Tsugumi Nagisa, a picture book writer traveling with her dog, and together they embark on an adventurous journey across Japan, living and traveling in their car.
“Wataridori to Katatsumuri” was initially serialized on Wani Books’ web manga magazine NewsCrunch starting October 2019. The first volume of the manga was published in August 2020, followed by the third volume in September 2021. The series went on hiatus after the release of the third volume until its recent announcement of both the manga’s continuation and its upcoming anime adaptation.
