In an announcement made in the 25th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, it was revealed that Hiro Mashima’s “Edens Zero” manga will conclude in just five chapters. Fans can expect the final chapter to be published in the magazine’s 30th issue on June 26.
The manga, which entered its final arc in December 2022, has been a captivating journey for readers since its debut in June 2018. Mashima, known for his previous works “Fairy Tail” and “Rave Master,” has once again delivered a thrilling adventure filled with memorable characters and epic storytelling.
“Edens Zero” follows the story of Shiki, who has lived his entire life among machines in the abandoned amusement park of Granbell Kingdom. Everything changes when Rebecca and her cat companion Happy arrive, marking the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years. As Shiki makes new friends and faces challenges, he embarks on a cosmic adventure aboard Rebecca’s spaceship, exploring the vast unknown of the universe.
The manga has been published in English by Kodansha USA Publishing, both digitally and in print. Its captivating story has also inspired an anime adaptation, which premiered in Japan in April 2021. The first season of the anime consisted of 25 episodes and began streaming on Netflix outside of Japan in August 2021.
Following the success of the first season, the second season of the “Edens Zero” anime premiered in April 2023 on NTV and its affiliates. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, and France’s Mediatoon Distribution acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the second season.
Additionally, fans can look forward to experiencing the world of “Edens Zero” in video games, with Konami developing a 3D action RPG for consoles and a top-down RPG for mobile devices based on the manga.
