Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales Dominates for Four Consecutive Weekends

by Hazel

Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales, the 44th film in the popular Doraemon anime series, maintained its top position at the Japanese box office for the fourth consecutive weekend. The film earned 435 million yen (approximately $2.9 million) from 358,000 admissions, marking a 121% increase from the previous weekend, likely due to Japanese schools entering spring break.

This marks the latest success for the Doraemon franchise, which has seen several films stay at the top for multiple weekends. Notable titles include Nobita’s Great Battle of the Mermaid King (2010) and Nobita’s Chronicle of the Moon Exploration (2019), both of which held the top spot for five and six weekends, respectively. Nobita’s Art World Tales has now grossed nearly three billion yen (around $20 million) from 2.47 million tickets sold, approaching the earnings of Nobita’s Treasure Island, which stayed No.1 for three weekends in 2018.
