The anime adaptation of Koisuru One Piece (“One Piece in Love”), a spin-off gag manga by Daiki Ihara, will begin airing on April 1. All five episodes will be released on consecutive days. Ahead of its premiere, the series has revealed more of its cast, featuring several voice actors familiar to One Piece fans.
The main cast includes the following voice actors, with their respective characters from One Piece listed in parentheses:
- Yoshioka Sato voiced by Akari Kito
- Biology Club President voiced by Akira Ishida (Cavendish)
- Tsuchi voiced by Megumi Han (Otama)
- Toriko Kurono voiced by Takehito Koyasu
- Narration voiced by Mahito Ohba (Smoker)
The series is directed by Haruka Kamatani (known for Looking for Magical Doremi) and Hazuki Omoya (One Piece Fan Letter Assistant Unit Director) at Toei Animation. The character designs are by Hanao Iida, a former One Piece staff member.
The episodes will be released on One Piece’s official social media accounts starting at 8:00 p.m. Japan time on April 1. The series will run for five days leading up to the return of the main One Piece episodes.
Koisuru One Piece centers on three high school students who form a One Piece fan club. Their characters, sharing names with familiar figures from the original series, find themselves in humorous situations that parody the iconic anime.
