The official accounts for CITY THE ANIMATION have announced two new cast members ahead of the anime’s debut on July 6, 2025. Yu Miyazaki will voice the manga artist Oni Kamaboko, while Ryota Suzuki will play his editor, Todoroki. Additionally, a new concept visual, titled “GOD SOCCER + special otheres,” was revealed, produced by .MP.

CITY THE ANIMATION is based on the manga by Keiichi Arawi. Directed by Tachi Ishidate (known for Violet Evergarden) at Kyoto Animation, the series features character designs and chief animation direction by Tamami Tokuyama (Sound! Euphonium) and art direction by Shiori Yamazaki. Music for the show is provided by the instrumental band Piranhans.
Kyoto Animation describes the story as follows:
“This town is not just an ordinary place. It’s filled with laughter, love, and emotional moments. The residents’ unpredictable everyday lives lead to exciting adventures. Welcome to CITY.”
