The original anime Future Kid Takara, a collaboration between STUDIO4°C and NHK Enterprises, has unveiled a teaser poster and video, offering a glimpse into its climate change-themed narrative. The anime, successfully crowdfunded in 2023, will feature Yuki Kaji as the voice of the main character, Takara, and ten-year-old Honoka Yoshida as Sara. The series will consist of 11 five-minute episodes.
Set to premiere on September 25, 2025, at Osaka’s EXPO Hall, Future Kid Takara follows a young girl named Sara, who travels to the year 2100. There, she discovers a world devastated by global warming. Sara teams up with Takara as they navigate this harsh, dystopian future.
Directed by Yuta Sano (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc – Memorial Edition) at STUDIO4°C, the anime features a script by Shinji Obara (Samurai Champloo) and original character designs by Shinji Kimura (Children of the Sea art director). In line with its environmental theme, STUDIO4°C has committed to reducing CO2 emissions during production.
