The second film in the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club anime series now has an official release date. The movie will open in Japan on November 7, 2025, as announced during a stage event at AnimeJapan 2025 this weekend. Along with the date announcement, an updated video was released to fans.
The new film series, which began with the first movie on September 6, 2024, is set in Okinawa and focuses on a new event called the School Idol GPX, taking place after the original series and the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club OVA.
The films are directed by Tomoyuki Kawamura at animation studio Sunrise, with Jin Tanaka writing the script. Takumi Yokota provides the character designs, and Naoki Endou handles the music. The franchise is based on the original work by Hajime Yatate and Kurako Kiminosa.

Nijigasaki High School is known for its diverse subjects and the freedom it offers students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki becomes captivated by the world of school idols and, along with her friend Ayumu Uehara, joins the School Idol Club. The club members, sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, each bring their unique thoughts and motivations to the group.
