The popular fighting game franchise Guilty Gear is making its anime debut this spring with Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers. Ahead of its official release, Arc System Works has unveiled the anime’s opening theme sequence.
Originally launched in 2021, Guilty Gear -Strive- introduced a new era for the long-running series. Its success led to multiple character additions and, now, a full-fledged anime adaptation. The upcoming series is set to bring the game’s intense action and storytelling to screens worldwide.
Opening Theme and Release Details
Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 5, 2025, and will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll for international audiences. To build excitement, Arc System Works has released a creditless version of the opening theme, AXCLUSION, performed by ulma sound junction. The sequence highlights key characters from the games, along with some newcomers debuting in the anime.
Production Team and Cast
The anime is directed by Shigeru Morikawa at SANZIGEN, with Norimitsu Kaiho overseeing the script. Seiji Mizushima serves as associate producer, while Ryo Takahashi handles the music composition. The ending theme, Arika, will be performed by Nowlu.

Plot Overview
The anime takes place after the events of Guilty Gear -Strive-. The world has moved beyond its reliance on advanced science and now operates using magic. However, the creation of biological weapons known as Gears led to a devastating conflict. Although the war ended, its impact still lingers.
The story follows Sin Kiske, the son of Ky Kiske and Dizzy, as he attends his parents’ wedding. Their union, between a human and a Gear, challenges long-standing taboos. While the world celebrates the peace that made this event possible, a mysterious girl appears. She carries a deep hatred for Gears, setting the stage for a fateful encounter that could alter the course of history.
With its compelling storyline and a star-studded cast, Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers is poised to be a must-watch for fans of the franchise.
