Netflix has revealed a new full-length trailer for the upcoming Devil May Cry anime, set to debut on April 3, 2025. The trailer, featuring Papa Roach’s “Last Resort,” offers a glimpse into the action-packed world of the series, based on the popular Capcom game franchise.
The nearly two-minute trailer highlights intense action scenes, fan-favorite characters, and a plot that centers around the young demon hunter Dante. The White Rabbit, a mysterious character, appears to be attempting to create a new world order dominated by demons. Dante, however, is ready to take on this challenge, eager for the action.
Dante faces more than just hellish monsters in this series. With the fate of the world at stake, he finds himself caught in a battle between demon forces and heavily armed authorities determined to prevent an apocalypse. In one exciting moment, Lady, a “hired hunter,” confronts Dante on a rooftop. The trailer ends with a dramatic tease of Dante and his older twin brother Vergil, hinting at a showdown between the “Sons of Sparda.”
The Devil May Cry anime draws inspiration from Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, a prequel video game that explored Dante’s reckless younger years as a demon slayer.
The series boasts an impressive voice cast, including Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante. Bosch, known for voicing Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach and Vash the Stampede in Trigun, previously voiced Nero in the Devil May Cry games. Other notable cast members include Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady, Hoon Lee as the White Rabbit, and Chris Coppola as Enzo Ferino. The late Kevin Conroy, famous for voicing Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, will voice VP Baines.
Produced by Adi Shankar, known for Netflix’s Castlevania, the anime is animated by Studio Mir, the South Korean studio behind X-Men ’97 and My Adventures with Superman. Hideaki Itsuno, a former Capcom director, serves as executive producer.
Netflix describes the series as follows: “In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces seek to open a portal between the human and demon realms. In the midst of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds rests on his shoulders.”
