Sunrise and Studio Khara have announced that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will premiere on Prime Video on April 8, 2025, streaming in Japan and 240 other countries. New episodes will be available weekly with both English subtitles and dubbing.
The series follows Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, its successful theatrical prequel. GQuuuuuuX presents an alternate Universal Century timeline where Char and the Principality of Zeon won the One Year War, exciting longtime fans.
Synopsis and Key Team
High schooler Amate Yuzuriha, living in a peaceful space colony, meets war refugee Nyaan and gets involved in illegal mobile suit duels called “Clan Battle.” Using the name “MACHU,” Amate pilots a GQuuuuuuX and faces intense battles. Meanwhile, a mysterious Gundam and its pilot, Shuuji, appear, signaling a new era.
The series is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (Rebuild of Evangelion, FLCL), with writing by Yoji Enokido (Bungo Stray Dogs) and Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Mechanical designs are handled by Evangelion veteran Ikuto Yamashita.
Prime Video’s Anime Expansion
Keisuke Oishi, Prime Video Japan’s Country Manager, highlighted their commitment to anime. “Following our success with Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time and Look Back, we are thrilled to present GQuuuuuuX as we celebrate Gundam’s 46th and Evangelion’s 30th anniversaries.”
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX begins streaming April 8, 2025, while GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is currently in U.S. theaters.
