David Production, known for hits like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force, has announced its first original anime, Onmyo-Kaiten Re:Birth, set to premiere in July 2025. The studio released a teaser visual, trailer, and revealed the main cast and staff behind the series.
A Sci-Fi Heian Battle
Onmyo-Kaiten Re:Birth is an action-packed isekai series blending ancient Japanese mysticism with cyberpunk elements. The story follows Takeru Narihira, a high school delinquent who is transported to an alternate version of Kyoto in the Heian era, called Denji Heian-kyo, where magic and technology coexist. Takeru meets Tsukimiya, a girl from his dreams, but their reunion is interrupted when monstrous Onijin creatures kill them both.
However, Takeru finds himself in a time loop, returning to the past. Determined to save Tsukimiya, he seeks out the legendary Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei, to learn Onmyodo and change the future.
