Voice actress Nonoka Obuchi has unveiled the music video for “Saijokyu no Kokoro” (“Supreme Heart”), the opening theme for the winter 2025 anime Beheneko: The Elf-Girl’s Cat is Secretly an S-Ranked Monster! The music video, directed by ZUMI—famous for his work with idol groups like AKB48 and HKT48—was released alongside the CD single on February 26, 2025, in Japan. Obuchi also stars as the character Lily in the anime.
This release marks Obuchi’s second single, following her debut with the ending theme “Akaku Somete Shinzou” (“Dye My Heart Red”) for the spring 2024 anime Mysterious Disappearances. “Saijokyu no Kokoro” was written and composed by Enon Kawatani of Gesu no Kiwami Otome. Kawatani shared his excitement about working on the song, stating that his love for reincarnation stories made this project particularly special for him.
Beheneko: The Elf-Girl’s Cat is Secretly an S-Ranked Monster! is based on the light novel series by Nozomi Ginyoku and Mitsuki Yano. Directed by Tetsuo Hirakawa at Zero-G and Saber Works, the anime tells the story of a proud knight who is reincarnated in the body of a behemoth. Though he appears as a cuddly kitten, he is still a noble warrior with the strength of an S-ranked monster. The series follows his adventures as he protects the elf girl who adopts him as her pet.
The anime’s production includes series composition by Kanichi Kato (known for The Eminence in Shadow), character designs by Tomoyuki Abe, and music by Yusuke Shirato. Yen Press publishes the manga under the title I’m a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl’s Pet
