The Blue Box anime has announced that Yuki Kaji, best known for voicing Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, will join the cast as Kazuma Matsuoka. This announcement was made in the 13th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, published on February 18, 2025.
Kaji will voice Kazuma, a student who returns to Japan after studying in the United States. Unlike his role as Eren in Attack on Titan, Kazuma presents a completely different character, showcasing Kaji’s growing versatility as he takes on new roles.
Kaji’s debut as Kazuma will take place in the 22nd episode of Blue Box, set to air in Japan on February 27, 2025. International viewers will be able to watch the episode a week later on Netflix, which is currently the exclusive streaming platform for the series.
A visual of Kaji as Kazuma was shared on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on February 23, 2025, featuring comments from Kaji himself. No other castings were announced, suggesting that Kaji’s character introduction may be reserved for the final episodes of the season.
Aside from Attack on Titan, Kaji is also renowned for voicing Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, Keiji Akaashi in Haikyuu!!, and other notable characters like Koichi Hirose in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Ayato Kirishima in Tokyo Ghoul, and Meliodas in The Seven Deadly Sins.
