Shonen Jump Parody Movie Features Dragon Ball Star in Exciting New Promo

by Hazel

Shonen Jump is home to some of the most popular anime franchises, including Dragon Ball, One Piece, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Bleach. These iconic series have shaped the anime landscape for years. Now, in an upcoming project, some of the biggest voice actors from these legendary shows are teaming up for a new adventure. If you haven’t yet heard of Me And Roboco, the upcoming anime adaptation might be worth your attention.

Me And Roboco debuted in 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump, created by Shuhei Miyazaki. The series has continued to release new chapters and received its first anime adaptation in 2022. The TV show, which ran for 28 episodes, introduced viewers to Roboco and her quirky world. Set in a future where robot maids called “OrderMaids” are common, the story follows Bondo Taira, who wants a maid for his family. However, he gets more than he expected when Roboco, a robot who isn’t quite up to the task, enters his life.

Shonen Jump Stars Return in Upcoming Film

After the first season of the anime, Me And Roboco will release its first feature-length film in April. The film will dive into a multiverse concept, similar to superhero universes, featuring hilarious variations of Roboco, each voiced by well-known voice actors. The cast includes stars from iconic series such as Fist of the North Star, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, and, of course, Dragon Ball.

Shigeru Chiba, the voice of Fist of the North Star’s narrator, will voice a post-apocalyptic version of Roboco. Sumire Uesaka, known for Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, will voice a more lighthearted, romantic-comedy version of Roboco. Masako Nozawa, famous for voicing Goku in Dragon Ball, will play a “Showa-Era” gag version of Roboco.

Shonen Jump Crossovers: A Tradition

Shonen Jump characters have often crossed paths in video games, with Jump Force being one of the most notable examples. The game brought together a huge number of characters, allowing them to battle and team up with their original voice actors. While there hasn’t been an anime project that unites all the Shonen Jump characters in one place, there have been memorable crossovers. For instance, in a special One Piece episode, the Z-Fighters from Dragon Ball joined forces with the Straw Hat Pirates, resulting in a fun showdown between Luffy and Goku.

While Me And Roboco may not bring together characters like Deku from My Hero Academia or Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, it still offers an exciting, multiverse-inspired adventure that fans of Shonen Jump won’t want to miss.
