“Solo Leveling Surpasses Jujutsu Kaisen in Crunchyroll Ratings, Eyes Demon Slayer’s Top Spot”

by Hazel

The ongoing second season of Solo Leveling has achieved a major milestone, surpassing Jujutsu Kaisen in ratings on Crunchyroll. Less than a year after its 2024 release, the anime adaptation of Chugong’s popular web novel and manhwa has soared into the Top 3 highest-rated series on the platform.

Currently, Solo Leveling has accumulated nearly 500,000 ratings, securing its place alongside anime giants One Piece and Demon Slayer. The series, produced by A-1 Pictures, now ranks third, having surpassed Jujutsu Kaisen, which holds 490,200 ratings as of the latest data.

While One Piece remains the leader with over 580,000 ratings, Solo Leveling is quickly approaching its goal, with its strong momentum hinting at a possible rise in the rankings. To reach the top, it will need to overtake Demon Slayer, which has amassed over 570,000 ratings.

Fans Hopeful for Jujutsu Kaisen’s Return

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are optimistic that the upcoming Culling Game arc in Season 3 will help the series reclaim its place in the Top 3. However, Solo Leveling’s rapid climb is impressive, especially considering that older, well-established franchises like One Piece (which debuted in 1999) and Demon Slayer (which began in 2019) have had years to build their fanbases.

Though Jujutsu Kaisen began airing in late 2021, its second season has been on hold since its July-December 2023 episode run. The anime’s next season is highly anticipated, though no official release date has been confirmed.

Solo Leveling Set to Surpass Demon Slayer Soon

Solo Leveling fans are confident their favorite series will continue to rise in the rankings. The second season is currently halfway through its run, and Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, a film that bridges the first and second seasons, was released in late 2024. While the film isn’t available on Crunchyroll, both seasons of the anime are currently streaming on the platform.

In addition to its growing fanbase, Solo Leveling has gained critical acclaim. The most recent episode, Season 2 Episode 6: “Don’t Look Down on My Guys,” has an impressive 9.8 rating on IMDb, making it the highest-rated media of 2025 so far.

As Solo Leveling continues to gain momentum, it’s clear that it’s on track to challenge Demon Slayer for the #2 spot in the near future.
