The highly anticipated You and Idol Precure♪ anime has added Sayaka Ōhara to its cast, as the voice of Pikarine, the queen of Kirakiland. Her debut in the role is set to take place with the airing of the second episode this Sunday, February 11.
Ōhara’s character, Pikarine, plays a crucial role in the storyline, which unfolds in the vibrant world of Kirakiland, where danger looms under the threat of the Chokkiri gang’s villainous boss, Darkiine.
The You and Idol Precure♪ anime premiered on February 2 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other affiliate channels across Japan. Streaming platform Crunchyroll is offering the series to global audiences, with episodes releasing simultaneously.
Plot Overview
Set in Hanamichi Town, the story follows Uta Sakura, a passionate second-year middle school student with a love for singing. One day, while walking her dog Kyū-chan, Uta encounters a mysterious, peach-like object floating down the river. This discovery leads to her meeting Purirun, a fairy who reveals that Uta is destined to become the legendary savior known as Idol Precure. As Purirun explains, Kirakiland is under siege by the Chokkiri gang, and the town’s “sparkle” has been stolen by the gang. In an act of defiance, Uta transforms into Cure Idol, declaring, “I want to sparkle! With my song!” to protect her world and the residents of Hanamichi.

Directed by Chiaki Kon (Eiga HappinessCharge PreCure! Ningyō no Kuni no Ballerina, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal), the anime features a talented production team, including Yoichi Kato (Wonderful Precure! The Movie!, Aikatsu!) overseeing the series scripts. The character designs are crafted by Miho Sugimoto, with Rie Iida responsible for art design, and Tong Nian Chen directing the art.
