Animecoin (ANIME), the native token of the Animecoin community, will officially debut on South Korea’s Upbit exchange on January 23, 2025, at 22:00 KST. This marks the token’s entry into the South Korean market after its recent listing on Binance.
Trading Details and Support
Upbit will offer trading support for ANIME paired with Korean Won (KRW), Bitcoin (BTC), and Tether (USDT). The token will be available on the Arbitrum network, specifically the Arbitrum layer-2 blockchain. From 22:00 KST, traders can begin depositing and withdrawing ANIME on Upbit.
However, Upbit cautioned that, due to the token’s recent launch, liquidity might not be sufficient for stable trading. The exchange assured traders that it would provide more details regarding the official start of trading once liquidity is secured. Upbit will announce the exact time for trading one hour before it begins.
Restrictions and Pricing Information
To manage the trading flow, Upbit has placed temporary restrictions on orders. Buy orders for ANIME will be limited to five minutes after trading starts, while sell orders will be restricted for one hour. Additionally, the base price for the Animecoin token will be revealed one hour before trading begins.
Expansion to Other Exchanges
Animecoin is also set to list on major exchanges such as Bybit and OKX starting from January 23, expanding its availability to a broader global audience.
The Vision Behind Animecoin
Animecoin aims to address challenges in the animation industry, such as fragmented consumer experiences, limited fan participation, and outdated monetization models. By leveraging a community-owned Web3 network, the project intends to provide a more interactive and sustainable environment for fans and creators.
ANIME will serve as both a gas and governance token for Animechain, the community’s Web3 network, which is expected to launch in Q1 of 2025. The project plans to introduce a variety of anime-related content, including original works, third-party collaborations, games, merchandise, and NFTs.
Token Supply and Distribution
The total supply of ANIME tokens is capped at 10 billion, with an initial circulating supply of 7.69 billion. The community will receive around 50.5% of the total supply, while over 20% will be allocated to the project’s team and company.
