Blue Box Manga Sales Surge Amid Anime Release

by admin

The release of the Blue Box anime has significantly boosted sales of the manga series, particularly with the airing of volumes 17 and 18. These volumes have seen a notable increase in sales, with volume 18 achieving a milestone by surpassing 150,000 copies sold — a first for the series.

Prior to volume 16, Blue Box volumes regularly averaged over 100,000 copies sold. However, volume 16 saw a dip, failing to reach that mark. The anime’s debut sparked a turnaround, as volume 17 quickly regained momentum, surpassing 100,000 copies sold. Volume 18 then took the lead, breaking records and achieving over 150,000 copies sold, signaling a peak in the manga’s popularity.

The anime’s impact on sales extends beyond individual volumes. As of now, total copies sold during the airing of the anime have exceeded 1.18 million, with significant contributions from October (500,000), November (250,000), and December (400,000). For context, Blue Box has sold a total of approximately 6.5 million copies since its debut in 2021. This means the past three months alone account for about a sixth of the manga’s lifetime sales.

With the anime still ongoing — and with 15 episodes released out of a planned 25 — Blue Box’s sales are expected to continue climbing in the coming months. The series is well-positioned to maintain its momentum, especially as the first season has yet to reach its conclusion.
