The short film project for the Lycoris Recoil anime has shared its first major update since its announcement on July 23, 2024. During the LycoReco Produce: Okinawa Event Commemorative Stream on January 18, 2025, the project revealed the title, key visual, and staff details.
Titled Lycoris Recoil: Friends Are Thieves Of Time, the short film will feature new adventures of Chisato Nishikigi, Takina Inoue, and other characters set in Café LycoReco.
The project will be supervised by Shingo Adachi, the original scriptwriter for Lycoris Recoil, with each episode being directed and storyboarded by different creators. Imigimuru, who penned the original anime’s script, returns to write one of the episodes.

Release dates for the short film project are yet to be announced.
The Lycoris Recoil anime aired from July 2 to September 24, 2022, and was produced by A-1 Pictures. Crunchyroll simulcasted the series and provided an English dub. A manga adaptation by Yasunori Bizen began in Monthly Comic Flapper on September 5, 2022. Additionally, a spin-off light novel titled Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days by Asaura was released by ASCII Media Works under Dengeki Bunko on September 9, 2022.
