In a landmark collaboration, Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions have unveiled plans for an anime adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, the critically acclaimed video game developed by Sucker Punch Productions. The series, which will be based on both the game’s main storyline and its Legends multiplayer mode, is set to premiere in 2027.

The adaptation is being produced by Aniplex, a studio renowned for its work on iconic series such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Sword Art Online. The project will be helmed by director Takanobu Mizuno, with Gen Urobuchi serving as the writer responsible for the series’ story composition. Kamikaze Douga, an animation studio known for its high-quality work, will handle the animation, while Sony Music will contribute by overseeing the soundtrack and music strategy.
