The highly anticipated medical mystery anime Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective has officially premiered its first two episodes on Crunchyroll, offering fans an early glimpse into its gripping narrative. Alongside the debut episodes, the anime has released creditless versions of its opening and ending song sequences, further enhancing the viewer experience.
The opening theme, “SCOPE,” is performed by Aimer, renowned for her work on Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF OP2, while the ending theme, “will be fine feat. Anly,” is by Gospellers. Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective is adapted from the novels by Mikito Chinen and Noizi Ito. Directed by Kazuya Iwata (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy) at studio project No.9, the series features a team of talented creators, including Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries) as series composer, Yuka Takashina (Plunderer) as character designer, and fox capture plan (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) composing the music.
Story Overview:
The series follows the staff at Ten’ikai General Hospital’s Supervisory Department of Diagnostic Pathology, a department responsible for handling medical cases deemed too complex by other physicians. The department also becomes the epicenter for bizarre and unsolvable mysteries, ranging from unexplained illnesses to bizarre murders that even the police can’t crack. At the heart of these strange occurrences is Takao Ameku, a brilliant doctor driven to uncover the shocking truths behind these anomalies.
