The My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions spinoff manga is set to conclude with its final chapter, slated for publication in the February 2025 issue of Saikyō Jump on January 4, 2025. The news comes from Amazon’s listing for the upcoming issue of the magazine, which will be available for release in Japan on that date.
This spinoff, written by Yoko Aiyama and based on My Hero Academia creator Kōhei Horikoshi’s original work, has captivated fans with its focus on aspiring heroes teaming up with professional heroes for action-packed missions. In this series, U.A. High students are paired with pro heroes through the Team-Up Missions Program, offering them valuable lessons in teamwork while tackling villainous threats. The twist, however, lies in the unpredictable nature of the pairings, where students from various classes and even other schools may find themselves working together.
The manga first debuted in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine in July 2019 with a prologue chapter before continuing serialization in Saikyō Jump in August of the same year. The spinoff was launched to mark the fifth anniversary of the main My Hero Academia manga, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014 and ended in August 2024.
My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions has been officially published in English by Viz Media, who describes the series as an opportunity to explore the dynamic between students and pro heroes in a fast-paced, mission-driven narrative.
Horikoshi’s original My Hero Academia manga has been a monumental success, reaching over 100 million copies in circulation globally by April 2024. Viz Media also publishes the English version of the manga, available both digitally and in print in North America. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also offers the manga digitally in English.
On the anime front, My Hero Academia continues to expand, with the highly anticipated seventh season having premiered in May 2024, following the conclusion of the sixth season. The anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll as it airs. Additionally, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, the fourth anime film in the series, opened in Japan in August 2024 and was later released in the U.S. in October. The film is available in both English-dubbed and subtitled versions.
Fans of the My Hero Academia franchise can also look forward to My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, a spinoff manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, which will be adapted into an anime set for release in April 2025.
The end of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions marks another chapter in the franchise’s continued success, both in print and on screen, as the world of heroes continues to capture the imagination of audiences worldwide.
