Fans of My Dress-Up Darling may have a much-anticipated treat in store for 2025. Following initial announcements in September 2022, a potential release window for the anime sequel has been revealed. According to a listing on Amazon for an upcoming issue of Young Gangan, a magazine published by Square Enix, the sequel is slated for premiere sometime in 2025.
The new season will continue the story from the first, which was based on the manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling) by Shinichi Fukuda. The first season, which aired in January 2022, consisted of 12 episodes and was widely praised for its charming portrayal of the main characters.
Currently, the original My Dress-Up Darling anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The series follows Wakana Gojo, a high school boy with a deep passion for making traditional Japanese Hina dolls, despite his lack of knowledge about current trends. Struggling to fit in with his peers, Gojo’s life takes a turn when he meets the popular Marin Kitagawa, a girl whose unexpected secret sets the stage for their unlikely friendship and collaboration.
As the sequel’s release draws nearer, excitement is building for the next chapter in Gojo and Kitagawa’s story.
