HIDIVE has revealed that the slice-of-life drama anime Flower and Asura will stream exclusively on the platform in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The series is slated to be a part of HIDIVE’s winter 2025 simulcast lineup.
The anime features a notable voice cast, including Minori Fujidera as Hana, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Mizuki, Fuka Izumi as Anne, Shoya Chiba as Shudai, Seiichiro Yamashita as Matsuyuki, Kiyono Yasuno as Ryoko, and Taito Ban as Setaro.
Flower and Asura is based on the manga written by Ayano Takeda, the creator of Sound! Euphonium, and illustrated by Musshu. The manga first debuted in 2021 in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump, with seven volumes published to date. The anime adaptation is directed by Ayumu Uwano, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, and is produced by Studio Bind.
“We’re excited to add Flower and Asura to our exclusive lineup of Winter 2025 simulcast series,” said HIDIVE President John Ledford. “This new slice-of-life drama, based on the work of Ayano Takeda, will be a heartwarming celebration of friendship, and we’re confident fans will love every episode.”
Set on the tranquil island of Tonakijima, which is home to just 600 residents, the story follows Hana, who spends her days reading literature to the local children. Known for her exceptional narration skills, Hana catches the attention of Mizuki, the president of the school’s broadcasting club. Impressed by Hana’s talent, Mizuki invites her to join the club, sparking a journey where Hana discovers her passion for reading—and possibly changes the course of her life in the process.
Flower and Asura is set to be a key addition to HIDIVE’s winter 2025 offerings, promising a touching narrative of personal growth and friendship.
