Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide beginning January 2, 2025.

Bushiroad announced on Monday that the highly anticipated BanG Dream! anime sequel, Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast -, will begin streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll starting January 2, 2025. This follows the success of BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!!, the previous entry in the franchise. The series will explore new characters, continuing the narrative within the BanG Dream! universe.

Story Overview

The story of Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast – centers on Sakiko Togawa, a character who loses everything in a single night and embarks on a dark journey that pulls those around her deeper into her fate. As Sakiko navigates her own turmoil, she draws other girls, each burdened with their own troubles and desires, into a complex web of choices and consequences. The show promises an intense narrative, delving into themes of sorrow, death, love, and the search for solace in a world where masks conceal the true nature of its characters.

Returning Cast and Crew

Koudai Kakimoto, known for his work on Cyborg 009: Call of Justice and Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko, returns as director for the sequel at SANZIGEN. Yuniko Ayana will also reprise her role as series script supervisor and writer. Other returning staff include Hitowa and Kazuyuki Ueda as the original character designers, Hiroaki Matsuura and Shōta Hozumi as animation producers, and Hitoshi Fujima and Junpei Fujita from Elements Garden as music producers.

The theme song for the anime, KiLLKiSS, will be performed by Ave Mujica.

Anime Premiere and Previous Installments

The anime will premiere in Japan on January 2, coinciding with its global streaming debut. The earlier BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! anime debuted in June 2023 with a three-episode release on Tokyo MX and the streaming platform ABEMA. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, alongside Muse Asia, which offered the series to international audiences.

Additionally, BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! has released two compilation films. The first, Haru no Hidamari, Mayoi Neko (A Sunny Spot in Spring, A Stray Cat), debuted on September 27, 2024. The second film, Utau, Bokura ni Nareru Uta (Sing, the Song That Can Define Us), followed on November 8, 2024.

Franchise History

The BanG Dream! franchise, which launched in January 2015, has expanded into a multimedia project encompassing television anime, films, and various web anime spinoffs. The main BanG Dream! television anime premiered in January 2017 with its first season of 13 episodes, followed by the third season in January 2020. The franchise also includes live-action films and anime films, such as BanG Dream! FILM LIVE and BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage.
