The ninth episode of A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!, the anime adaptation of Mai Tanaka’s popular manga, introduces a new character, Karasuma Ranmaru, voiced by Showtaro Morikubo.
Ranmaru, the sly and carefree Captain of the Karasu-Tengu Troupe, is known for his poor habits and womanizing ways—traits that make him stand out even among yokai. Morikubo, recognized for his role as Shikamaru in Naruto and his recent work voicing Gomah in Dragon Ball DAIMA, brings the character to life with his distinctive voice.
Katsumi Ono directs the anime, produced by animation studio Satelight, with Deko Akao handling the series composition. The character designs are created by Natsuki, and the music is composed by Takahiro Inafuku. A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! is serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy shonen manga magazine, with Yen Press publishing an English-language version.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan, providing a detailed description of the series:
“Haruaki Abe is thrilled to finally achieve his dream of becoming a teacher. However, his excitement quickly fades when he arrives at Hyakki Academy, only to discover that the school is filled with monsters! Can Abe overcome his fear and manage his supernatural students? The show’s comedic elements and supernatural setting continue to captivate viewers, making it a standout this season.
