Fans of My Happy Marriage have reason to celebrate as Season 2 of the popular romance anime is set to premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025. The eagerly awaited season’s release date was confirmed via a new trailer shared by the series’ official X (formerly Twitter) account. Alongside the trailer, a captivating key visual was revealed, featuring the series’ central characters, Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou, standing hand-in-hand beneath a wisteria tree.
The anime, which has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide, will continue its story of Miyo, a young woman born without powers in a world where spirits and magic are real, and her journey with Kiyoka, a seemingly cold and cruel commander. As their relationship unfolds, both characters uncover deeper connections, offering fans a mix of romance, drama, and personal growth.
Season 1 of My Happy Marriage has been met with positive reception, earning an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.73/10 rating on MyAnimeList. The anime, adapted from Akumi Agitogi’s light novel series and Rito Kohsaka’s manga, premiered on Netflix in July 2023. Set in an alternate Taisho-era Japan, the series delves into themes of magic, power, and overcoming personal trauma.
In a recent interview, Reina Ueda, the voice actress for Miyo Saimori, expressed her excitement and apprehension regarding the swift renewal of the series for a second season. “The announcement was made so quickly, and that made me realize just how high the expectations and satisfaction are from everyone,” Ueda said.
The show, animated by Kinema Citrus, is expected to continue its captivating narrative with heightened anticipation as fans await the release of Season 2 in early 2025.
