A new television anime adaptation of The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife (Tōmei Otoko to Ningen Onna: Sonouchi Fūfu ni Naru Futari), a romantic comedy manga by Iwatobineko, has been confirmed for 2025. The announcement was made through a newly launched official website on Wednesday.
The manga, which follows a unique love story involving an invisible detective and his bashful staffer, has garnered attention for its charming blend of romance and humor. The story centers on Yakō Shizuka, a quiet and shy woman working at a detective agency. Her boss, Tounome, is a gentlemanly figure who owns the agency and possesses the remarkable ability to turn invisible. This talent makes him a natural for detective work, but it comes with an unexpected twist: Yakō, who is blind, can always tell when he’s nearby, despite his invisibility.
As Tounome grows fond of Yakō, he becomes determined to win her heart, even if it means using his invisibility to his advantage. Alongside their developing romance, the manga also introduces Yakō’s quirky colleagues, including a contrarian human man and a kind-hearted beastwoman, who offer support as she navigates the challenges of office romance.
Iwatobineko initially launched The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife on Twitter in 2021, before transitioning to serialization on the pixiv Comic and Comic Natalie platforms later that year. The sixth volume of the manga was published by Futabasha on Wednesday, while the fourth volume was released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment on September 10.
The upcoming anime adaptation is highly anticipated by fans of the manga and romantic comedy enthusiasts alike.
