The highly anticipated second season of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun has officially announced its release date, joining the Winter 2025 anime season. The news comes alongside a stunning new trailer that teases what’s to come, showcasing a notable enhancement in animation quality and offering a glimpse into the series’ upcoming story arcs.
Based on the manga by Aidaro, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun first captivated audiences with its unique blend of supernatural elements and Japanese folklore when it debuted in 2020. Now, after nearly five years, the series will pick up where its first season left off, continuing the paranormal adventures of the titular Hanako and his reluctant assistant, Nene Yashiro. The story delves deeper into the legends surrounding school ghosts and the eerie world of spirits that inhabit the school grounds.
The new trailer hints at major events from the manga’s Clock Keepers and Picture Perfect story arcs, which are expected to feature prominently in Season 2. Additionally, the season may adapt the Young Exorcist arc, which, according to the manga’s timeline, should have been explored in the anime’s first season.
Studio Lerche, which animated the first season, will return to handle the second season as well.
