The highly anticipated FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull anime film, a continuation of the FUUTO PI series, officially premiered in theaters across Japan on November 8. To mark the occasion, the official social media channels for the series have unveiled an intense new trailer showcasing key moments from the film.
The movie adapts the pivotal “Begins Night” episode, diving deep into the events that shape the dynamic between the central characters—Shotaro Hidari, Phillip, and Shotaro’s mentor, Shokichi Narumi. The newly released trailer not only highlights the thrilling battle sequences but also features the first transformation of Kamen Rider W into the Fang Joker form within the movie. Fans of the series are treated to a glimpse of the action that will unfold on the big screen.
The trailer, which is available on the series’ official X (formerly Twitter) account, also teases the dramatic incidents that unfold during the fateful night, laying the groundwork for the heroes’ iconic transformations.
Directed by Yosuke Kabashima, the film follows the story from Kamen Rider W’s sequel manga by Riku Sanjo and Masaki Sato. Kabashima, who helmed the FUUTO PI anime series at Studio KAI, reprises his directorial role for the film, with Riku Sanjo contributing to the screenplay.
Fans can catch the FUUTO PI anime series on Crunchyroll, which describes the story as follows:
Set in Fuuto (also known as Windy City), the series revolves around the struggle between mysterious beings known as Dopants, who wreak havoc using the dangerous Gaia Memories, and two unlikely heroes: Shotaro Hidari, a half-hearted private investigator, and his partner Phillip, a more intellectual figure. Together, they transform into the legendary Kamen Rider W, the protector of Fuuto City.
The FUUTO PI anime series originally aired for twelve episodes from August to October 2022, captivating audiences with its blend of action and mystery.
