Satoru Gojo Tops 2024 Anime Character Popularity Poll in Japan

In an official 2024 survey, Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen has been crowned Japan’s most popular anime character. Conducted by online karaoke service JOYSOUND, the poll saw Gojo, the iconic blindfolded mentor from the Jujutsu Kaisen series, rise to the top for a second consecutive year. With nearly 3,000 fans participating from Sept. 20 to Oct. 6, Gojo’s strength, charisma, and “handsome” appearance made him a clear favorite among voters.

Following Gojo on the list were Gintama’s Gintoki Sakata in second place and My Hero Academia’s fiery hero Katsuki Bakugo in third. Other notable characters on the top 10 list included figures from popular franchises such as Project SEKAI, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Oshi no Ko, showcasing the broad tastes of anime fans in Japan.
