Crunchyroll Set to Stream the Anticipated Supernatural Anime in January 2025. The popular supernatural anime Toilet-bound Hanako-kun is gearing up for its highly anticipated second season, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2025. As excitement builds, new key art has been released, showcasing a dynamic scene between the series’ beloved characters.
In the newly unveiled artwork, Nene Yashiro is depicted joyfully leaping to embrace Hanako-kun, who appears pleasantly surprised. The backdrop features a large, luminous yellow full moon, setting a whimsical tone. Nene is seen in her modern school uniform, while Hanako-kun dons his traditional attire, complete with a cap and a talisman inscribed with a Kanji character on his cheek.
The original manga series, created by Aidairo, is serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy shonen magazine, with an English version published by Yen Press. The anime’s second season is directed by Yohei Fukui at the animation studio Lerche, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling the series composition and Mayuka Itou responsible for character designs.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the new season as part of its Winter 2025 anime simulcast lineup, further expanding its offerings of popular series.
Toilet-bound Hanako-kun follows the story of Kamome Academy, a school shrouded in mystery, particularly surrounding the mischievous spirit of Hanako-kun. The plot thickens when Nene, an occult enthusiast, inadvertently bonds with Hanako-kun, leading them into a hidden realm of supernatural beings. Together, they navigate the complexities of their world while striving to maintain harmony between students and spirits, all the while encountering their own set of challenges.
