Kuromi’s Pretty Journey Anime Series to Premiere with Simultaneous English Dub on October 31

Sanrio has announced a new addition to the “Kuromi’s Pretty Journey” anime series, titled Kuromi’s Pretty Journey Hachamecha! Multiverse Dasshutsu! (Chaotic! The Great Multiverse Escape!). The series will debut on Sanrio’s YouTube channel on October 31, with a simultaneous English dub available for international fans.

The story follows Kuromi as she accidentally ventures into the multiverse and meets a charming character named Nico, voiced by Yūki Kaji. Together, they navigate a series of alternate realities to find their way back home. Along the way, they encounter various alternate versions of Kuromi, including a zombie, a villainess, and a manga artist Kuromi. Joining Kaji, the voice cast features notable actors Toshiyuki Morikawa, Mamiko Noto, Yōko Hikasa, and Rei Sakuma, with returning cast members Junko Takeuchi, Noboru Maeda, Kotomi Aihara, Ikue Ōtani, and Misaki Watada.

The English dub, managed by Soli Consultants, Inc., introduces a cast that includes Diana Garnet, Winton White, Vinay Murthy, Anya Floris, Kristen Watts, Hannah Grace, Jack Merluzzi, and Thina Shimada. Translation work for the dub is credited to Zal Heiwa Sethna, with casting directed by Fumi Nakajima.

Directed by Sachi Miura, the anime’s production involves Qzil.la, IMAGICA Infos Co., Ltd., and Studio Nanahoshi. Takayuki Abe oversees the series scripts, while writers Yodine and Domeshi contribute to the storyline. Kōdai Tajima and sachiko15 are responsible for the ending sequence, and nest is producing the project. The theme song, “Fuhen” (Abnormal), is performed by the singer, actress, and model ano.

The first Kuromi’s Pretty Journey series premiered on YouTube and TikTok in February 2023, releasing 21 episodes over several weeks. An English-dubbed version followed in July 2023. Kuromi, originally introduced in Sanrio’s Onegai My Melody anime in 2005, has consistently ranked in the top three of Sanrio’s “Character Awards” over the past three years, affirming her popularity among fans worldwide.
