“Look Back” Anime Film Set for Global Streaming Release on November 7

The highly praised anime film “Look Back,” adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, will be available for worldwide streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting November 7. Directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, this hour-long film gained significant attention upon its initial release in Japan on June 28, 2024, grossing over 2 billion yen (approximately $13.31 million) from 1.17 million ticket sales.

To commemorate the upcoming release, a new key visual created by Oshiyama has been unveiled. The film’s production is under Studio Durian, with Oshiyama also handling the script and character designs. The art direction is led by Kiyoshi Sameshima, and the soundtrack is composed by haruka nakamura, with distribution by Avex Pictures.

“Look Back” follows the story of Fujino, a popular student known for her comedic comics in the class newspaper. Her life takes a turn when her teacher assigns her to share a space with Kyomoto, a reclusive artist whose stunning work ignites a competitive spirit in Fujino. As jealousy transforms into mutual admiration, both characters discover a deep passion for drawing and the profound connections that can emerge through creative collaboration.

GKIDS, which released the film in North America on October 4, highlights the emotional depth of “Look Back,” promising an experience that will resonate with viewers and inspire them to pursue their artistic aspirations.
