In an exciting announcement today, Kanata Hoshi’s romance fantasy light novel series Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! (originally titled Akijiki Reijou to Kyouketsu Koushaku: Sono Mamono, Watashi ga Oishiku Itadakimasu!) will receive a television anime adaptation, slated for release in spring 2025. The news was shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series.
The light novel first began serialization on the Japanese self-publishing platform Shosetsuka ni Narou in November 2019. Since April 2021, Kodansha has been publishing the print editions, illustrated by Peperon, under its K Lanove Books imprint, with three volumes currently available in Japan. This adaptation marks a significant milestone, as it is the first series from this particular imprint to be transformed into an anime.
In addition to the light novel, the manga adaptation, illustrated by Chika Muzube, has been running on Kodansha’s Palcy website since March 2021. The ninth tankobon volume is expected to release in Japan on November 29, 2024.
Kodansha USA, which has been releasing the manga in English since December 2023, provides the following synopsis for the series:

Despite its questionable reputation, Melphiera is convinced that this exotic protein can elevate fine cuisine, and she is determined to shift public perception within her kingdom. With its whimsical premise and engaging characters, Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! promises to be a captivating addition to the anime landscape in 2025.
