Japanese-Indian anime film ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ has delayed its theatrical release, originally scheduled for October 18.
In a recent announcement via social media, the team behind the Japanese-Indian anime film “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” confirmed that the movie’s theatrical release in India has been postponed. The film, which was set to hit theaters on October 18, will now be rescheduled to a later date.
Geek Pictures India, the film’s distributor in collaboration with AA Films and Excel Entertainment, cited the desire to reach a broader audience as the primary reason for the postponement. In their official statement, the company expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support the film has received from Indian audiences.
“In response to the incredible enthusiasm from fans nationwide, we have decided to adjust the film’s release date from the previously scheduled October 18 to a new date in the near future,” the company stated. “This decision reflects our commitment to ensuring that this iconic masterpiece reaches every corner of our vast country.”
“Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” will be available in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. The film originally premiered at the International Film Festival of India in 1993 and has since been a nostalgic favorite for many, especially known for its broadcasts on platforms like Cartoon Network.
Originally intended to coincide with the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, the film promises to be a vibrant celebration that blends India’s rich cultural heritage with the artistry of Japanese animation. Further updates regarding the new release date are expected soon.
