The beloved anime adaptation of Akumi Agitogi’s novel series, My Happy Marriage, will return for its second season in January 2025, as announced by producer Kadokawa. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a teaser trailer, a new visual, and the introduction of three significant cast members.
In this upcoming season, the deepening relationship between Kiyoka and Miyo faces new challenges, pushing the couple to confront obstacles together. The newly announced cast includes:
Tadakiyo Kudo (voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu), Kiyoka’s father and former head of the family.
Fuyu Kudo (voiced by Kikuko Inoue), Kiyoka’s mother.
Naoshi Usui (voiced by Yuya Uchida), the founder of the “Gifted Communion” sect, which aims to destabilize society using Miyo.
Continuing the creative team, Takehiro Kubota directs the series alongside Masayuki Kojima at Kinema Citrus. The script is penned by Ami Sato, with character designs by Shoko Yasuda and music composed by Evan Call.
Netflix will stream the series as it airs, allowing international audiences to join in on the romance and drama. Yen Press publishes the English edition of the novels, which follows the story of Miyo Saimori, born without supernatural talent into a noble family. Facing an abusive stepmother and a bleak future, her life takes a turn when she learns that her fiancé, Kiyoka Kudou, is not the cold-hearted man she expected, leading them both to discover the possibility of true love and happiness.
