Netflix has announced that it will begin streaming the anime adaptation of Kouji Miura’s manga Blue Box starting October 3, 2024. The series, produced by Telecom Animation Film and directed by Yūichirō Yano, will be available on the platform weekly, coinciding with its Japanese broadcast on TBS and its affiliates. The release time for new episodes will be midnight Pacific Time, with English-speaking regions seeing updates every Thursday.
Blue Box follows Taiki Inomata, a high school badminton player, and his efforts to win over Chinatsu Kano, a popular basketball star who moves into his home. The series will feature Shouya Chiba as Taiki, Reina Ueda as Chinatsu, and Akari Kitō as Hina Chouno. The opening theme is “Same Blue” by Official Hige Dandism, and the ending theme is “Teenage Blue” by Eve. The episode count for the first season remains undisclosed, but it is anticipated to include around eleven to thirteen episodes.
