In a recent update, the official website for the acclaimed anime series Ishura has unveiled a teaser trailer for its highly anticipated second season, confirming a premiere date of January 2025 in Japan.
The teaser introduces three new voice actors joining the cast for the upcoming season. The anime’s official social media channels are also sharing brief clips to showcase the new characters. Notably, the trailer reveals the voice of Kaishin no Kuuro, played by Mariya Ise.
The new cast members
Kaishin no Kuuro (“Kuuro the Cautious”), voiced by Mariya Ise, known for her role as Killua Zoldyck in Hunter × Hunter. Kuuro, a former assassin for the intelligence guild “Obsidian Eyes,” now allies with Aureatia. Despite his once formidable ability to foresee the future with his “Heavenly Eyes,” his powers are diminishing.
Mayoi no Cuneigh (“Cuneigh the Wanderer”), voiced by Miku Ito, who is recognized for her role as Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets. Cuneigh is a winged homunculus who works closely with Kuuro. Her petite size allows her to fit into Kuuro’s coat, and she supports him with her unwavering trust and role as a scout.
Chiheihou Mele (“Mele the Horizon’s Roar”), voiced by Rikiya Koyama, known for his portrayal of Klaus Von Reinherz in Blood Blockade Battlefront. Mele, a giant residing on the fringes of Sine Riverstead, serves as a revered guardian deity. Despite his seemingly lethargic demeanor, he wields remarkable precision in archery, capable of altering the terrain from great distances.
The first season of Ishura aired 12 episodes from January to March 2024 and was available internationally on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States.
Based on the original light novels by Keiso, illustrated by Kureta, and published by ASCII Media Works under the Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint, Ishura follows a world where the Demon King’s death has led to a new era of demigods vying for supremacy. The story features a diverse cast of powerful characters, each with unique abilities and personal quests to prove their worth as the ultimate hero.
The series is directed by Takeo Takahashi and Yuki Ogawa, with animation studios Passione and Sanzigen handling production. Yen Press also publishes the English version of the light novels.
