The anime film Gekijou-ban SutoPuri Hajimari no Monogatari ~ Strawberry School Festival!!!~ (translated as Strawberry Prince The Movie: A Story of The Beginning ~Strawberry School Festival!!!!~) has achieved a significant milestone, earning over 600 million yen (approximately $4.2 million USD) from 520,000 ticket sales in just 51 days since its release. The announcement was made through the movie’s official X account (formerly Twitter) on September 8.
Inspired by the popular Japanese VTuber boy band Strawberry Prince, also known as SutoPuri, the film premiered in 326 theaters across Japan on July 19. It garnered an impressive 178 million yen (about $1.13 million USD) in its opening weekend, with over 159,000 admissions, securing the third spot at the box office. The film maintained its momentum, staying in the top 10 of the weekend box office for two consecutive weeks.
A unique aspect of the film’s release strategy has been the weekly distribution of special bonus items to theatergoers. In its ninth week, visitors will receive one of six different scene visual cards as a special giveaway.
