The popular manga The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System (Tsuihousareta Tensei Juu Kishi wa Game Chishiki de Musou Suru) is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, with animation studio GoHands at the helm. A teaser trailer and a promotional visual have been unveiled to celebrate the announcement, generating excitement among fans.
The series centers around a Heavy Knight who, despite hailing from a prestigious Sword Saint lineage, is exiled and stripped of his succession rights. In this world, prejudice against the Heavy Knight class runs deep. However, the protagonist possesses a unique advantage: he realizes that this world is actually a game he used to play, and he knows that the Heavy Knight is the strongest class within it. Armed with this knowledge, he sets out to defy expectations and dominate using his in-game expertise.
The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System is based on a manga written by Lee Brocco and serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine. The series is itself an adaptation of a light novel by Nekoko, and the anime’s announcement comes alongside the release of the manga’s 11th volume.
The story originally debuted as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2021. The light novels, featuring illustrations by Jyaian, are published under the K Ranove imprint, with three volumes currently available as of February 2024.
