The official website for the BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! anime has released the second trailer for its upcoming compilation film, Haru no Hidamari, Mayoi Neko (A Sunny Spot in Spring, A Stray Cat). Scheduled for release on September 27, 2024, this film is the first of two compilation movies adapting the television anime series.
The second compilation film, titled Utau, Bokura ni Nareru Uta (Sing, the Song That Can Define Us), is set to premiere on November 8, 2024. Both films will consolidate the anime’s episodes and introduce new content, including a special “Film Live” sequence featured in the second installment.
Director Koudai Kakimoto, known for his work on Cyborg 009 Call of Justice and Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko, has shared that the first film will cover the story up to episode 7 of the series, incorporating additional sequences focused on the character Rāna Kaname. The second film will span episodes 8 to 13, bringing the series’ narrative to a close.
The BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! anime initially aired in Japan starting June 2023 on Tokyo MX and streaming service ABEMA. Crunchyroll simultaneously streamed the series, which concluded with its 13th episode in September 2023. A sequel, BanG Dream! Ave Mujica, has been announced and is set to premiere in January 2025.
Koudai Kakimoto, who directed the new anime at SANZIGEN, has worked alongside Yuniko Ayana, who supervised and scripted the series. The anime’s opening theme, “Hitoshizuku,” and ending theme, “Shiori” (Bookmark), are performed by the band MyGO!!!!!.
The BanG Dream! franchise, launched by Bushiroad in January 2015, includes multiple anime seasons and films. The franchise’s extensive portfolio encompasses the original BanG Dream! series, subsequent seasons, and various spin-off projects, including the BanG Dream! FILM LIVE series and the BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia films.
