The highly anticipated TV anime Promise of Wizard (Japanese title: Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku), based on the popular smartphone game by coly, has released an exciting new trailer and teaser art, building anticipation for its January 2025 premiere in Japan.
Directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa at Liden Films, the series is set to captivate audiences with its magical world and compelling narrative. Nanami Higuchi will handle the series composition and scriptwriting, while Nozomi Nagatomo provides the character designs and serves as chief animation director. The musical score, composed by Shuji Katayama of Team-MAX and produced by Pony Canyon, promises to enhance the show’s immersive experience.
The newly unveiled teaser art showcases the protagonists, Arthur and Oz—two charismatic young magic-users. The image features them back-to-back, with Arthur holding a grimoire and Oz wielding a magical staff adorned with a ruby orb. The dramatic backdrop includes an oversized full moon, ominously referred to as “The Great Calamity,” and a distant castle, setting the stage for the series’ fantastical adventure.
Promise of Wizard follows Akira Masaki, an ordinary young woman from Earth who is transported to a magical realm. There, she assumes the role of a wise-woman tasked with training wizards from five different nations. Her mission is to combat a recurring supernatural threat embodied by the colossal moon known as “The Great Calamity.”
Fans can look forward to the series’ debut in January 2025 as it promises to deliver a captivating blend of magic, mystery, and adventure.
