The highly anticipated anime series Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms is officially set to premiere on October 3 at 24:30 JST (effectively October 4 at 0:30) in Japan, according to the series’ official website and social media accounts. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the project, which originated from a Kickstarter campaign and has since gained considerable traction.
In addition to the premiere date, a new key visual has been unveiled, showcasing key characters from the series. Notably, Kappei Yamaguchi, renowned for his role as Usopp in One Piece, will voice Yakumo, the founder of the Kagami Group. The casting for Yakumo’s older brother Tsukihito, who is depicted beside Yakumo in the visual, has yet to be announced.
Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms is directed by Okamoto at TriF Studio, with series composition handled by Yasuhiro Nakanishi and TriF. Character designs are crafted by Terumi Nishii and Yoko Uchida, while Mecha-Ude designs and concept art are provided by Nurikabe. The anime’s music will feature contributions from KOHTA YAMAMOTO, DAIKI (AWSM.), and Hiroyuki Sawano.
Crunchyroll will stream the series concurrently with its Japanese broadcast. The anime’s plot follows Hikaru, an ordinary middle school student whose life takes an extraordinary turn upon encountering Alma, an alien entity resembling a mechanized limb known as Mecha-Ude. Alma is part of a rare species being pursued by a malevolent group in search of those with immense power. Together with the resistance group ARMS, Hikaru and Alma embark on a high-stakes journey to protect the Mecha-Ude.
