The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s autobiographical manga series, Hyakusho Kizoku (Noble Farmer), has announced that the highly anticipated second season will debut in Japan on October 4, 2024.
The new season will feature an ending theme song titled “Chouai-zoku” (translated as “Well-liked Tribe”), performed by sanetii, a notable singer-songwriter known for his distinctive blend of 2000s rock and contemporary Vocaloid music. Born in 2000, sanetii has gained popularity in the Kansai region with his catchy pop tunes.
The first season of Hyakusho Kizoku, produced by Pie in the Sky, aired from July to September 2023, showcasing a total of 12 episodes.
Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of the series, draws from her personal experiences for this dairy farming-themed comedy manga. Arakawa, originally from Tokachi-city, Hokkaido, grew up in a farming family and spent seven years in dairy and field farming before pursuing a career as a manga artist.
The manga originally appeared in Shinshokan’s Un Poco magazine from December 2006 to March 2009. Following the magazine’s closure, the series continued in WINGS, another publication by Shinshokan. To date, Hyakusho Kizoku has seen the release of eight tankobon volumes, with a total of 4.1 million copies in print.
