Tokyo, August 28, 2024 — As anticipation builds for the October 2024 premiere of the comedy-drama anime series “If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student,” the official website and social media accounts have released a fresh key visual along with exciting new cast announcements. Additionally, the series’ opening theme will be “Ai no Reunion” performed by Pachae.
The updated key visual showcases the anime’s vibrant artwork, giving fans a glimpse of the show’s distinctive style. The newly introduced cast members joining the already announced leads Daisuke Hirakawa, Maiko Nomura, and Aoi Yuki are:
Sachiko Kojima as Chika Shiraishi, known for her role as Sylphine in “The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady.”
Mutsuki Iwanaka as Renji Aikawa, who previously voiced Haruki in “Classroom of the Elite.”
The character designs for Chika Shiraishi and Renji Aikawa have also been unveiled, providing further insight into the visual aesthetics of the characters.
Based on the manga by Yayu Murata, the anime is directed by Noriyuki Abe, renowned for “My New Boss is Goofy,” at Studio Signpost. The series features composition by Sawako Hirabayashi (“I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History”), character designs by Narihito Sekikawa (“BEM”), and music by Hiroko Yamasaki (“Oblivion Battery”).
The storyline centers on Keisuke Niijima, who, ten years after the death of his beloved wife Takae, lives in despair with their daughter Mai. Their world is turned upside down when an elementary school girl arrives, claiming to be the reincarnation of Takae. Initially met with skepticism, the girl’s knowledge of private family details convinces Keisuke and Mai of her true identity. The series then explores the family’s journey as they come to terms with this miraculous reunion.
