The official website for the Mission: Yozakura Family anime has announced three new voice cast members, introducing characters who debuted in the latest episode, aired on August 25 in Japan.
New Cast Members
Asuka Hatoda, the narcissistic president of “Popoppo Honpo,” will be voiced by Akira Ishida, known for his role as Athrun Zala in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed.
Akai, a character who wields the flames of hatred, will be brought to life by Ami Koshimizu, who previously voiced Holo in Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF.
Aonuma, a laid-back young man with cooling abilities, will be voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi, known for his role as Saki Hananoi in A Condition Called Love.
In addition to these cast announcements, the anime’s official site has also revealed the character visuals for Kurosawa, a former death-row inmate who is fearless in the face of death, and Chacha, the brains behind “Tanpopo,” who controls all of the organization’s systems.
The Mission: Yozakura Family anime, based on the romantic comedy manga by Hitsuji Gondaira, premiered on April 7, 2024. Directed by Mirai Minato (BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense) and produced by SILVER LINK, the series is available for streaming worldwide on Hulu and Disney+.
The original manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since August 2019, with 20 collected volumes published to date. VIZ Media publishes the manga in English and provides the following synopsis:
“Taiyo Asano, a super-shy high school student, only feels comfortable talking to his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a family of master spies with extraordinary abilities. Her older brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessively protective of Mutsumi and is willing to eliminate anyone who gets too close to her—making Taiyo his next target. To save himself from Kyoichiro’s deadly intentions, Taiyo has only one option: marry Mutsumi!”
