“Look Back” Anime Film Receives $6.3 Million Revenue

The animated film “Look Back,” released on June 28, has captured significant attention with a total of 599,731 viewers and earning ¥1,017,961,780 (approximately $6.3 million USD) as of July 16. Directed by Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for “Chainsaw Man,” the film depicts the coming-of-age journey of elementary school students Fujino and Kyomoto, bonded by their love for manga.

Initially serialized as a 143-page one-shot on ‘Shonen Jump+’ in July 2021, “Look Back” garnered immense praise, amassing over 2.5 million views on its debut day and securing top spots in manga rankings. Its adaptation to film stars Yumi Kawai and Mitsuki Yoshida, with its popularity continuing to grow through expanding screenings and positive word-of-mouth.
