The popular supernatural comedy Toilet-bound Hanako-kun will continue its anime journey with a new sequel set to premiere in July 2025. The announcement followed the airing of the final episode of Season 2 in Japan. A teaser visual, created by the manga’s author AidaIro, was also revealed alongside the news.
The series, adapted from the manga by AidaIro, saw its second season directed by Yohei Fukui at Studio Lerche, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling series composition, Mayuka Ito designing the characters, and Hiroshi Takaki composing the music. Masaki Kitamura directed the first eight episodes of the After-school Hanako-kun spin-off, also produced by Studio Lerche.
Both the main series and the spin-off are available for streaming on Crunchyroll with a variety of subtitles and dubs.
The story follows Kamome Academy, a school filled with supernatural mysteries. The most famous is the mischievous ghost of Hanako-kun. When occult enthusiast Nene Yashiro accidentally forms a bond with him, she is thrust into a hidden world of supernatural beings. Together, they navigate the delicate balance between students and supernatural forces while trying to stay out of trouble.
