The official YouTube channel of singer-songwriter Vaundy has unveiled the music video for his latest single, “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN.” This rock track is featured as the opening theme for the Sakamoto Days TV anime. The video combines dynamic footage from the anime with the song’s energetic beats.
Released digitally on January 12, “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” quickly gained popularity, reaching #5 on Oricon’s weekly digital single charts by its second week.
In addition, Vaundy released a new track titled “Somebody Help Us” on February 16. This song serves as the special ending theme for the anime’s seventh episode. A CD single featuring both “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” and “Somebody Help Us” is scheduled to drop on March 5, 2025.
The Sakamoto Days anime is based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. VIZ Media publishes the English version of the series.
Directed by Masaki Watanabe at TMS Entertainment, the anime features series composition by Taku Kishimoto (known for BLUE LOCK) and character designs by Yo Moriyama (director of MEGALOBOX).
The anime’s storyline follows Sakamoto, who has left the assassin world and now runs a neighborhood store with his family. However, his peaceful life is disrupted when a former figure from his past gives him an ultimatum: return to the world of assassins or face death.
